A warm welcome to our new board members

We would like to welcome Phillipa Wheaton, Jamie Hartzell and Kim Polgreen as new additions to our CAG Oxfordshire board.

Pip, Jamie and Kim are board members that have been co-opted onto the board as they bring useful skills, experience and connections. They will support the growth and development of the network alongside our elected board members who represent the network members. We are very excited to have them on board (excuse the pun) as they bring a wealth of experience and expertise, and will help us increase our impact over the coming years.

Pip is Co-Director of Ashoka in the UK and has a wide range of experience in social innovation and entrepreneurship. She is the co-founder of South African youth development organisation, enke: Make Your Mark and has worked on innovative finance and entrepreneurial support ecosystems in Australia, UK and South Africa. She has an MBA from Oxford University’s Said Business School and will bring skills in social enterprise support and development to the board.

Kim runs a social enterprise in Oxford called Leadership in Global Change, that engages teenagers and their teachers in climate and sustainability solutions. Kim’s background is in education, business and sustainability. She was a volunteer with the Oxford Conservation Volunteers in the ‘90s while doing a DPhil in Biochemistry and an MSc in Environmental Change and Management at the ECI in Oxford. Kim worked for Unipart in Oxford as Group Environment Manager, and then for KPMG as a sustainability consultant, before running an education social enterprise in Oxford for 14 years, and in 2019 doing an interim role at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Kim will bring skills in education, consultancy and organisational management to the board.

Jamie is a lifelong social entrepreneur. He is the founder of Ethex and the Ethical Property Company as well as an investor in a wide range of social businesses. He has substantial board experience with companies, charities and not for profits, having acted as a board member for Divine Chocolate, Zaytoun, Positive Money and the Real Farming Trust. He will bring experience in enterprise and board management and is now particularly passionate about doubling tree cover in Oxfordshire by 2045.

We are very grateful to have these three talented people supporting the growth and development of our pioneering community led climate action in Oxfordshire.
