The CAG Project is excited to launch The Resource Community Impacts Tool (ResourceCIT), an easy to use online tool which supports community groups to monitor the effect of over 120 different activities, from tree planting and swap shops to bike repairs and thermal imaging.
The tool calculates waste, carbon and energy savings of activities and visualise the environmental impacts. It also indicates the social and economic value of projects through measuring volunteer time, consumer cost savings and local authority cost savings.
ResourceCIT is available for free to all Community Action Groups (CAGs) in Oxfordshire. By entering key facts and figures about their activities and events, they can produce summary statistics, reports and presentational charts. Using the tool helps establish a regular and consistent monitoring and evaluation process and provides evidence for reports and funding applications.
Developed over the last year by the CAG Project’s parent company Resource Futures, ResourceCIT is a result of comprehensive research and is unique in its field as a monitoring tool. The calculations are based on peer-reviewed publications carried out by sector leaders such as WRAP, DECC and the Energy Saving Trust. The tool has also been supported and endorsed by DEFRA.
