Do you think new housing schemes look boring and lack social interaction? Are you angry that affordable and environmentally-sustainable places to live are becoming rare for a growing group of people? Want to use your experience and skills to do something about it?
Oxfordshire Community Land Trust (OCLT), a member of the CAG network, is a Community Benefit Society that was set up in 2006 to build genuinely affordable homes and enable community land ownership across the county.
OCLT is a ground-breaking organisation to be part of as they push for changes in the way land and development works and look at innovative ways of developing homes including custom and self-build, training schemes, co-operative housing, cohousing as well as developing partnerships with existing housing providers.
They currently have an interesting and highly skilled board of Directors (find out more about on the website). However, the organisation is currently in a transitional period as they develop upon recent funding successes and exciting shifts in the community housing world. In light of this, a few voluntary Director positions that have opened up on the board.
The required roles are primarily Legal and Organisational Finance but they would also welcome anyone with experience in publicity and residential development finance. New Directors would be elected by our membership in our September AGM and would play an important role in building and implementing our new strategic direction.
