Our member groups span the county and work on a wide variety of issues. They welcome new volunteers and offer an easily accessible way of getting involved in climate action whether your interest lies in biodiversity, waste reduction, food surplus, community cohesion or active transport. We are a group of Elmsbrook residents who have been running events on the Eco Town for 2 years.

We want to make dumping raw sewage in rivers illegal, and our rivers safe and healthy for people and wildlife again.

FIRST AND LAST MILE

Travel / transport

First and Last Mile CIC brings bus services back to communities who have lost them. It acts in concert with other bus companies, councils and local communities.

FLO'S - THE PLACE IN THE PARK

Flo’s – The Place in the Park is a genuine community initiative. A community-owned hub for people to meet, work, play, create, learn, eat and connect.
We work to provide better local opportunities, reduce inequalities and support the environment.

Food surplus

Food for Charities picks up surplus food from supermarkets, wholesalers and individuals, and delivers it to charities.

We are engaging with the community in enhancing, restoring and connecting local habitats, maintaining and enhancing biodiversity, encouraging sustainable living, working across generations.

Green Fifield is a community group focused on protecting and enhancing the biodiversity and natural value of the parish, and promoting sustainable living.

GREENER GREAT COXWELL

Energy

Greener Great Coxwell is involved in a range of biodiversity and community energy initiatives. We have close links with the National Trust who are major landowners in our parish. Members are working on the Great Barn pond and the Memorial Garden wilding area. We are investigating a community orchard.

Energy projects range from working with Faringdon council and the Low Carbon Hub to make the Solar Streets and Cosy Homes initiatives available to our village. We are also preparing grant applications to the Greater South East Energy Hub for RCEF funding for a feasibility study for a District Heating scheme for the village.
