Community gardening, Biodiversity / Nature recovery

We are Green Appleton, a small environmental group in Appleton, Oxfordshire. We are officially a Community Action Group, and our aims are to:

Enhance local habitats
Maintain biodiversity
Encourage sustainable living
Work across generations
which can be summed up as 'Think globally, act locally for nature'.
We have held several Green Windmill Days (community recycling),
we are establishing a summer meadow in the churchyard, We have had two professional surveys of the
flora.

We have planted hedges to connect wildlife habitats
We have planted trees as part of the Queens Green Canopy.
We have had a survey from Oxfordshire Treescape Project.
We've built a bug hotel with local families
We are working with farmers, landowners and individuals to create wildflower areas to encourage nature restoration and wildlife corridors.

We meet every other month and we communicate by using the community newsletter and Facebook
page.

CAG Oxfordshire is a co-operative - we're owned by our members. We are a community benefit society with charitable objectives.

We are registered as The Community Action Groups Project Oxfordshire Limited with the FCA, number 8117.
