GREAT BIG GREEN WEEK
8th - 16th June 2024
THE GREAT BIG GREEN WEEK IS THE UK’S BIGGEST EVER CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY ACTION TO TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE AND PROTECT NATURE.
Run by the national campaigning organisation The Climate Coalition. The Great Big Green Week is an annual event bringing people together to unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet. Tens of thousands of people in every corner of the country celebrate the heartfelt, brave, everyday actions being taken to stand up for nature and fight climate change.
This is the fifth year that Oxfordshire has thrown itself into the campaign and the response from communities right across the County has been inspiring. Great Big Green Week has taken Oxfordshire by storm with communities coming together to celebrate sustainability and advocate for positive change.
Throughout the week and over two wekeends, there will be a vibrant programme of events, from garden open days and planting events to litter picking, talks and films, climate cafe's and workshops, all with the aim of uniting residents, businesses, and organisations in a shared vision for a greener future.
As Oxfordshire embraces the spirit of Great Big Green Week, it not only sparks meaningful conversations about climate action but also inspires tangible steps towards building a more resilient and sustainable community for generations to come.
