ABUNDANCE OXFORD

ABUNDANCE OXFORD

Abundance Oxford is a not-for-profit community harvesting, redistributing & preserving collective.

We climb trees or stay beneath catching apples. We pluck unwanted berries from back gardens, harvesting excess fruit & veg from all over Oxford, especially East Oxford. We redistribute it by bike trailer or otherwise to community groups who want & need fruit, primarily through the Oxford Food Bank. We also organise skill-shares for the general public and for service users of charity organisations to preserve the rest of the fruit & care for the trees from which they came.

We meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month in the Fir Tree pub (Iffley Road) for a meeting then social. We sometimes go foraging together before the meeting.

We then harvest regularly from mid-August till early November (usually lots of apples). We run skill-shares on pruning trees in February/March. We go foraging regularly between April – June.

Throughout the year we share food, cook outside whenever we can, harvest together and have a lot of fun!

If you are interested in, or love to cook, preserve food, make jam, share food, meet new people, pick fruit straight from the tree, access to ecologically-grown, free fruit and veg or can’t stand food waste, then come and meet us and join in some of our events and activities. We’re sure you’ll enjoy being a part of Abundance, whatever time commitment you can offer!

CAG Oxfordshire is a co-operative - we're owned by our members. We are a community benefit society with charitable objectives.
