Remember last summer’s West Oxford Climate Challenge? Well, if you live on Osney, this summer is YOUR chance to take part in mark ii of this ground-breaking energy research project with the University of Oxford.
All you need to do is sign up for your free kit, then note your main activities with a simple app over two specific days – we’ll show you how.
You’ll learn how daily activities shape our electricity use and what we can do to reduce it at critical times, and we’ll share your electricity profile with you – which can be really enlightening!
And the fun part: the residents on the Osney street which collectively reduce their electricity use the most when asked during the challenge win prizes and THE OSNEY POWER TROPHY.
Sign up online or by completing the tear-away form on the flyers which should be popping through your doors on Osney in the next few weeks.
The St Nic’s local produce and craft market is back! Every Friday morning between 11am and 1pm there will be stall in the little garden at the top of Stert Street (in the church if wet) selling fresh veg, local eggs, home-baked cakes and preserves, plants, seedlings and flowers.
Go early to get the best selection!
Even more important, if you have any produce to sell, you can do so at the market provided you collect the money and any unsold items promptly at 1pm, and donate 10% of the takings to St Nicolas Church funds. To join the happy band of producers, email Gilly Osborne firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are very happy to support this well-established venture bringing excellent, incredibly fresh local food right into the centre of town. Please help make it a success!

This workshop is supported by funding from Oxfordshire County Council to reduce textile waste. Around 350,000 tonnes of clothes go to landfill every year in the UK. Let’s find ways to keep our favourite fabrics in our lives -even when they’re no longer wearable!
It’s a shop… in a van! The finest, freshest local and organic fruit and veg Oxfordshire can supply, with additional produce from UK and the rest of Europe.
SUMMERTOWN FARMERS’ MARKET | Sundays 10am-2.30pm | Banbury Road, in front of M&S.
To stay up to date on the VegVan service, the online shop, and Cultivate in general, subscribe to our mailing list.
We meet every Sunday afternoon to garden together, share a cup of tea and cake, learn about growing and take home fresh fruit and veg.
In the darker months of the year (Nov-Apr) we meet from 12-4pm on Sundays and when the days are longer (May-Oct) we meet from 1-5pm on Sundays and from 5-8pm on Wednesdays.
Our garden is free to access and we welcome people of all levels of experience to share the space in an inclusive and supportive environment.
