Nature Conservation Day @ Aston's Eyot | | |

We’ll be working for, and with, the Friends of Aston’s Eyot to open up a large nettle-infested glade. The plan is to mow and rake the denser swaths of nettles; but to pull or dig them out where they’re in competition with less vigorous but more floriferous plants.

We’ll provide all the tools and training and no previous experience is needed. Just remember to bring a packed lunch and wear old clothes and stout footwear.

Under-18s are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You don’t have to tell us that you’re coming – either meet us at one of the minibus pickup points in Oxford:

1) Outside the Lamb and Flag Pub on St. Giles at 9.20am

2) Outside Tesco on Cowley Road at 9.30am

or meet us at the task site itself if you prefer. We’re normally back in Oxford before 5pm.
