Repair Cafe by SHARE Oxford @ Makespace | England | United Kingdom

Pay-as-you-feel community repairs and advice (attempts), over a nice cup of tea or coffee. We also have cake!
Got things which need some TLC, are perhaps a bit broken and you haven’t had the time or skills to fix them yourself? Don’t throw them away, bring them to our repair cafe, and our volunteers will have go at fixing them. We will have a mix of experts and complete beginners all willing to get stuck in so that they may keep their repair skills and knowledge alive, share it with us, save money and reduce our resource consumption footprint. Even if it can’t be fixed, you will still have a great time, meet new people and learn new skills!

You can bring any household good that you can carry. Unsure whether we could repair it or not? send an email, and we will check with our confirmed volunteers! Alternatively, bring it along anyway to the event, and we will assess our skills and tools it on the day. We will take items between 14:00 – 16:00 only, and aim to complete all repairs by 17:00.

For this particular event, we can attempt electrical, electronic, IT, mechanical, sewing, and tool sharpening repairs for things like: laptops, monitors, lamps, drills, speakers, toys, blenders, tools, jeans, bags, small furniture items, jewely, glasses, gardening tools, etc. Bring it along and we’ll consider it!

Yet remember to help us to help you. Please bring all parts needed for testing such as: power cords, mains adaptors, CDs, remote controls, etc.

Within the ethos of growing a repair culture, you will be encouraged to observe repairers as the work on your items. But please bear in mind that we can’t promise to repair. We will do our best to mend your items, and at least advise on alternative local repair options. You may wish to bring some cash in case we have the required spare parts in stock on the day.

There should be sufficient parking available on site and on Hayfield Road. Check for extra locations before arriving on site.
