Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve
Our regular monthly visit to Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve in the Chilterns. The site is managed by Natural England and, as usual, we’ll be working under the guidance of one of the site wardens. Summer time work at Aston Rowant could be fencing, path work, or looking after the sheep. As usual, the details of the planned work will be announced on the mailing list in the week preceding the task. So if you’re not already on our mailing list, then now is the time to join it (https://www.ocv.org.uk/list.php).
We’ll provide all the tools and training and no previous experience is needed. Just remember to bring a packed lunch and wear old clothes and stout footwear.
Under-18s are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You don’t have to tell us that you’re coming – either meet us at one of the minibus pickup points in Oxford:
1) Outside the Lamb and Flag Pub on St. Giles at 9.20am
2) Outside Tesco on Cowley Road at 9.30am
or meet us at the task site itself if you prefer (check the weekly email to find out exactly where we’ll be). We’re normally back in Oxford before 5pm.
