A new site for OCV in the Chilterns AONB, managed and cared for by the Woodcote Conservation Group. The plan is to build two relatively short stretches of boardwalk that will serve to bridge a pair of parallel ditches, and so give pedestrian access to and from a lane that runs along the southern edge of the site. This is the second task to complete the work, so we’ll be carrying on from the previous weeks work.
Note that Woodcote is further afield than usual for OCV so it’s likely that we’ll be back in Oxford later than usual. Watch out for the weekly email for details.
We’ll provide all the tools and training and no previous experience is needed. Just remember to bring a packed lunch and wear old clothes and stout footwear.
Under-18s are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You don’t have to tell us that you’re coming – either meet us at one of the minibus pickup points in Oxford:
1) Outside the Lamb and Flag Pub on St. Giles at 9.20am
2) Outside Tesco on Cowley Road at 9.30am
or meet us at the task site itself if you prefer (check the weekly email to find out exactly where we’ll be). We’re normally back in Oxford by 5pm.
