On Saturday 10 June, the CAG Project took part in the Big Green Day Out celebration on Broad Street. The day was an opportunity for people to showcase what they’re doing in Oxford to tackle climate change, improve the local environment and to encourage people to get involved in local projects.
The CAG Project were there to tell people about the network and to promote our partners, Good Food Oxford. Together we used fruit, rescued from going to waste by the Oxford Food Bank, and made hundreds of smoothies on our pedal-powered smoothie bike. We were all pleased that no fruit was wasted at the end of the day!
The day was a brilliant and creative celebration of all things green. There was live music from the eco-friendly Tandem Festival, arts and upcycled craft stalls with Orinoco, and a making things from pallets workshop with Bicester Green.
The day formed part of the Oxford Green Week celebrations, a city-wide eco festival that uses culture, creativity and community to inspire local people to take action against climate change. Find out more about what’s on.
