Sustainable Wantage funding success and offer of training to CAG groups

From Jo Harvey at Sustainable Wantage

We have been running a project with Oxfordshire Learning Network to fund tutors to deliver training at the Mix. We are pleased to announce that they have recently offered to carry on funding the project for another year.

We are currently running an exciting programme of free or subsidised events including: “getting to know your sewing machine”, making accessories, jam making, bike maintenance, foraging walks and a four-week herbal health and well-being course. We also have a flourishing wild flower meadow. Find out more about the events on the website.

Do you have any training needs? Health and Safety training? Food hygiene? Risk Assessments? Public speaking for the terrified?

We have been working together with Abingdon and Witney College to offer volunteer training for free or at very low cost. We’ve trained up PAT testers, looked at Social Media and Public Engagement, and are currently offering Essential First Aid and First Aid for outdoor activities. It’s been a great project and we plan to work together to continue supporting volunteers from September.

If your group has any training needs that we can help with, please contact Jo on 07768 767787 / joharvey100@gmail.com.
