CAGs celebrated at OCVA Awards 2017

IMG_20170509_191334120The achievements of the Community Action Group (CAG) Network were celebrated on the 9th of May 2017 at the Oxford Community & Voluntary Action (OCVA) annual awards ceremony.

3 groups won awards for their outstanding projects and dedication, with a further 8 groups being shortlisted for special recognition. A 19 groups were nominated for awards as a result of their hard work over the last year. One of our network volunteers also won a volunteer award to acknowledge her commitment.

 

The achievements were as follows:

Volunteer Award

Alex Mates (Oxford Circular Collective)

Best Community Project

Winner: Sandford Talking Shop

Shortlisted: Bicester’s Big Lunch Lunch (Grassroots Bicester) & Sustainable Wantage

Best New Group

Winner: Incredible Edible Hook Norton

Environmental Award

Winner: Charlbury Green Hub

Shortlisted: Greening Chinnor, Sustainable Blewbury

Best Team of Volunteers

Shortlisted: Broken Spoke

Innovation Award

Shortlisted: Oxford Circular Collective

Management of Volunteers

Shortlisted: Sandford Talking Shop

Good Neighbour Award

Shortlisted: Sustainable Wantage

Other nominated groups include: Oxgrow, Farmability, Low Carbon Oxford North, Good Food Oxford, SESI, Rose Hill & Iffley Low Carbon, LEAF, Low Carbon Headington, Low Carbon East Oxford and The CAG Project itself
